Farmers must harvest the delicate threads from each flower by hand. They then heat and cure the threads to bring out the flavor of the saffron. This extra labor makes saffron one of the most expensive spices in the world. Use in the kitchen: crumble 7/8 threads of saffron per portion into a cup with a little bit of warm water, leave to rest for ten minutes and add it at the end of cooking to your favorite risottos and dishes. Plus, early evidence suggests that saffron may boost mood, increase libido, and fight oxidative stress. Saffron is generally safe for most people to consume, and it is very simple to add it to the diet.

“AZIENDA AGRICOLA BIOLOGICA PEDROSI” The farm of more than 5 hectares extends in Gaiano di Fisciano (SA) in an uncontaminated area between the Picentini mountains and the Irno valley at about 500 meters above sea level. For over 3 generations we have dedicated ourselves to the production of olive oil, hazelnuts, walnuts, chestnuts and saffron. We have chosen to cultivate according to the method of organic farming because we strongly believe in a better world and we think that we can all do something to improve it.
