Caprese salad is an extremely simple Italian salad. It consists of sliced fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and seasoned with salt, and drizzled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. It was made to resemble the colors of the Italian flag: red, white, and green. In Italy, it is usually served as an antipasto. Perfect for a timeless summertime dish when you are in a hurry, slicing is the hardest part!
Cut mozzarella into big cubes and the tomatoes into halves. Place the mozzarella in the center of the plate with tomatoes all around. Add salt and pepper. Garnish with basil and add some Balsamic Vinegar.
